Faheem Noor Ali

faheem ali noorFaheem Noor Ali is a consultant focusing on economic development in the MENA and Africa Regions, particularly in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Noor Ali’s expertise in international development and emerging markets comes from his work at the World Bank and as an independent consultant to the Government of Zambia and other private interests in the Middle East.

He previously worked in the areas of public relations and marketing and has guided the advocacy and marketing strategy for clients such as the World Bank, Eli Lilly and Company and the Chicago 2016 Olympics Committee.Â

While an Associate in the World Bank’s Junior Professionals Program, Mr. Noor Ali led the evaluation of internal World Bank systems and development a new metrics tools to improve search performance within its enterprise infrastructure.

In addition, he led Y2Y, a youth-focused advocacy group, within the Bank and grew membership by over 20% and engaged the World Bank leadership in Y2Y activities.  Most notably, he developed and managed the World Bank’s first youth-focused small grants program in the MENA region and oversaw the disbursement of $70,000 to eight program in the region.Â

As a MBA student at the Kellogg School of Management, a globally-ranked top 10 business school, he led the Middle East Business Association and the Emerging Markets Club.

He led a cohort of 26 MBA students to Turkey and UAE in 2008 and published research on the media industry in the Middle East following the trip.

He was nominated as a Fellow to the Kellogg Innovation Network in 2009 and presented his finding on “Millennial Attitudes to the Workplace” to a group of Fortune 500 business leaders.Â

During his MBA and immediately following graduation, Mr. Noor Ali co-developed and supported RxMedia, a digital out-of-home advertising start-up focused on retail independent pharmacies.

In addition to developing the business plan for the company and presenting to potential investors, he developed a partnership plan for the company and promoted alliances with large organizations such as AARP.

Mr. Noor Ali also has an expertise in healthcare communications as evidenced by his support for the initiatives of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) around their cancer communications, and his experience building the FDA practice for a leading public relations firm.

He guided the pre-launch strategy for Eli Lilly’s Byetta by developing drug information material for a variety of audiences, including doctors, regulators and consumption audiences.

He later worked directly for Eli Lilly and proposed an overhaul of their Solutions for Wellness program by auditing 18 global affiliates for patient best practices and encouraging new investments.

Mr. Noor Ali currently consults the World Bank Institute’s Innovation Network and developed the group’s first digital launch of the summer 2010 edition of Development Outreach.

This included leveraging his knowledge of social media and Web 2.0 to increase discussing of the social entrepreneurship and innovation themes of the issue. In addition, he presented findings on the performance of the World Bank’s Development Marketplace to senior managers and contributes to new Development Marketplace initiatives.

Outside the World Bank, he has performed due diligence exercises on companies in Jordan and Saudi Arabia and helped draft an action plan to address the AIDS epidemic in Zambia.
